Planting Design & Selection
Anyone can buy plants. Knowing which fifty of the thousand options at the nursery will still look extraordinary in your garden in five years is a different skill entirely. That is the craft Chris trained in: horticulture and landscape design, 15 years deep, all of it on the Sunshine Coast.
A planting design starts with your conditions: coastal salt or hinterland fog, sand or red volcanic soil, full western sun or deep shade under camphor laurels. From there we build a palette with structure, movement and a flowering calendar, so the garden holds interest through every month of the year.
We design palettes for whole gardens, single beds, pool surrounds and privacy screens. And because we install everything ourselves, the plan never gets lost in translation between the page and the ground.

Read the site
Soil, aspect, drainage, wind, salt and shade. The conditions choose half the palette before taste comes into it.

Design the palette
Structure first, then seasonal layers: canopy, screening, mid-storey, groundcover and the details that make a garden feel curated.

Source and plant
We hand-select every plant, lay out the design on the ground, adjust by eye, and plant it properly.
Pricing
Planting design and installation is quoted as a fixed scope after consultation, from a single bed to a whole garden palette.

Asked before, answered honestly
Do you only use native plants?
No, though we love them. We design with whatever suits the site and your taste: natives, subtropicals, structured exotics or a blend. The only rule is that every plant must genuinely thrive in your conditions.
Can you design around an existing garden?
Yes. Most of our work weaves new planting through established gardens, keeping the mature plants that earn their place and replacing the ones that do not.
What if plants fail after planting?
We stand behind our selections. Plant the right species properly and failure is rare, but if something we chose and planted does not establish, we make it right.
